In the quaint town of Stirling, amidst its sporty charm, I, Kyle Ellis, emerged as an artist and creative soul. Breaking free from stereotypes, my journey unfolded through theatre, dance, and cheerleading, eventually leading me to channel my creative energy into photography and graphic design.
After graduating from high school in Belleville, Ontario, I delved into the world of graphic design at Algonquin College. Graduating with my degree laid the foundation for a career where creativity seamlessly intertwines with strategic communication.
My professional journey began as a junior graphic designer, a role that eventually felt confining. Nights spent in the vibrant hospitality industry honed a diverse skill set and cultivated a robust network. From managing nightclubs to assuming the role of Creative and Communications Director for Ottawa Venues, I wholeheartedly embraced the dynamic realm of design, event planning, and user experiences.
Recently transitioning to a role as an Electoral Coordination Officer for Elections Canada brought stability, yet my passion for design persisted. Freelancing has always been my creative outlet, culminating in the establishment of my client and event-planning business.
Specializing in graphic design, communications, and user experiences, I elevate businesses through unforgettable experiences. From collaborations with renowned organizations like Canada Goose to supporting local startups such as Rawdon Creek Soap Co., my portfolio spans diverse industries and talents.
Leaving an indelible mark on the industry, I garnered notable nominations, recognized as Ottawa's Favourite Event Planner and Promoter by Faces Magazine in both 2021 and 2022. My commitment to fostering acceptance and showcasing local queer drag talent underscores my dedication to community and inclusivity.
As a gay man, I've encountered challenges, from bullying to professional underestimation. Yet, these trials fueled my determination, shaping me into the resilient individual I am today. "Don't Stop Believing" became my mantra, a reminder that perseverance triumphs over adversity.
My philosophy is straightforward: "If you can think it, you can do it." Guided by core beliefs like working hard and playing hard, I embody the spirit of relentless pursuit and an unwavering belief in possibilities.
